10 Things I Love About Spring

Spring is finally here! The calendar tells me today is the first day of spring, but when I stepped outside this morning it was in the 30s. Oh the joy of living in Ohio…where one day you have your heat turned on, and a few days later you might be tempted to turn on your air conditioner. As a teacher, I remember some spring breaks when we had snow. And then as soon as we went back to school we had beautiful weather. In the words of Alanis Morissette - ”Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?”
 
Since it's officially spring, here are 10 things I love about this season (in random order):

1. Spring Break!!! - If you’re a teacher, you’ve probably been thinking about these 2 words since Winter Break. Spring Break allows us the opportunity to recharge so that we have enough energy to make it through the last few months of the school year.
2. We have more hours of daylight.
3. Opening up my patio door/windows and having fresh air in the house
4. Going to restaurants and sitting out on the patio
5. Sleeping with the windows open at night
6. Going to parks / being out in nature
7. Going to Cincinnati Reds games
8. Riding roller coasters at Kings Island (my favorites: Diamondback, The Beast, and Banshee)
9. Easter – Not just because it gives me an excuse to eat candy, but because we celebrate the fact that Jesus is alive and we have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him! To me, Easter represents the greatest love story ever told. 
10. Summer is only a few months away!
